Llamas - a most mesmerizing animal who will still your heart and soul forever. Whether it be in the show ring, carting, taking a walk or hike, or just sitting and watching them out in the field, once the lama (llama/alpaca) bug has bitten you, you will never be quite the same as before. They have a magical quality about them that envelopes you. Have you 'hugged' your llama today???Our MissionTo share the joy of llamas and alpacas with others thru educational clinics, participating in community events and through our breeding of affordable llamas with good conformation and personality plus.
Where are we?We are located in Valley Center, California, an unincorporated rural community in northern San Diego County with a population of approximately 22,000. The town covers about 100 square miles. Located approximately 45 minutes from downtown San Diego, North of Escondido. Valley Center is an agricultural community with 29,000 acres in some type of farming. San Diego has fantastic weather almost year round and plenty of sites to see such as the famous San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. You might also check out the Lavendar Fields in Valley Center and Bates Nut Farm. Vistors are welcome!
Directions: Take I-15 North of Escondido to Gopher Canyon/Old Castle Road offramp. Turn to the East on Gopher Canyon to the signal light at Old Hwy 395. Turn right at the signal and turn left at the very next street "Old Castle Road". Continue on Old Castle Road for 10-15 minutes up the hill into Valley Center. At the signal light of Valley Center Road turn left, go to the next signal at Cole Grade Road and Turn Left. Go approximately 3 miles to Hilldale Rd and turn left. Travel on to the end of the road (past "Not a Maintained Road" sign), down a slight grade and there we are on the right side you will see a sign that says "Hilldale Farm" come on up the driveway and "Welcome"!

Remember even if you aren't in a position to have your own llama you can still experience these incredible animals by visiting a llama ranch or attending a llama show (for example: the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar in June of each year. Llamas are generally shown the first weekend of the fair.)
